BROKEN PROMISES. So it's over, packed your bags and walked out. You were my lady but someone stole your heart. Disappointment turned to anger, you wanted my forgiveness. Could not believe that you were sorry, My heart was full of bitterness. Chorus: Why didn't we apologise, admit that we were wrong. Should have been more humble but we both came on too strong. Wounded one another and lost our faithfulness. Broken hearts and broken promises are all that we have left. Are all that we have left. We were good friends, we shared our hopes and our dreams. The things you showed me, they're still living with me. Oh we once had strong affection, You were the best friend I'd ever known. But when we had our conflict. Oh we let each other go. Chorus Love is greater than all the good works we conceive. How we do things counts far more than what we achieve. God will one day stand in judgment. Will we accomplish all our tasks? But for all the friendships we have broken Just one question he will ask. Chorus Lyrics: Noel Richards, Gerald Coates, Mick Ray. Music: Noel Richards © 1986 Pioneer Music/Word Music UK

You laid aside Your majesty Gave up everything for me, Suffered at the hands of those You had created. You took all my guilt and shame, When You died and rose again; Now today You reign, In heaven and earth exalted. I really want to worship You, my Lord, You have won my heart And I am Yours for ever and ever; I will love You. You are the only one who died for me, Gave Your life to set me free, So I lift my voice to You in adoration. about

Recorded and released Autumn 1986.

This was my first ever studio recording and contained a collection of my CCM songs. Two worship songs were included as a medley - "You laid aside Your majesty" and "Lord and Father, King Forever" - which was the first one I ever wrote, way back in 1979.

In those days, I was not concentrating too much on writing worship songs.

The album was recorded at ICC Studios, Eastbourne, UK and released through the Pioneer/Word UK label.

This was the only album that I ever released on 12" vinyl. It was also available in cassette format.

The album was produced by Paul Field and featured some legendary musicians such as Bryn Haworth, Dave Markee (ex Eric Clapton Band) and Clem Cattini (The Tornados).
